Our bodies tend to have a bit of trouble this time of year. With all the extra bugs going around, to our skin getting drier, to congestion and even the extra stress that we tend to experience this time of year. I created this steam to support our bodies with all of that in mind. Ingredients: Organic Elderflower, Organic Holy Tulsi, Organic Lemon Balm, Organic Rosemary, Organic Thyme, Organic Ginger, Organic Yarrow (optional Eucalyptus) You simply boil a quart of water and then turn the heat off. Add a heaping tablespoon of the blend and let it steep for 5 minutes or so. Then, with a clean face, breathe in the steam! It helps to drape a towel over your head to create a mini steam room. Breathe in the steam for 3-8 minutes, rinse and dry 💙Sitting in a hot shower/bathroom and taking in the steam has been a long time well known gentle aid in relieving uncomfortable symptoms during a cold or the flu. While steam alone is excellent at loosening up chest congestion and clearing nasal passages, there are many herbs that can be added to the steam to help that process as well as add additional benefits. For example, did you know Elderflower has been used for ages to help aid in regulating body temperature with fevers? It's also been shown to be incredible for healing the respiratory tract as well as soothing tired and dry skin. All things we need this time of year. Same for Yarrow! Yarrow has been shown to be one of the best herbs for fevers.Or let's tall about Tulsi (Holy Basil) for a moment. Tulsi is just an incredible herb all around. It's been used in Ayurvedic remedies to help with illness for centuries. It's been shown to be extremely effective in herbal steams controlling cough and maintaining health throughout the respiratory tract. There have actually been modern day studies done with children using steams with Tulsi and without. All studies have shown steam inhalation with tulsi leaves being much more effective at reducing symptoms. Then there's Thyme, or Thyme and Rosemary in this case. Thyme is one of those herbs you never want to be without, especially when sick. It's been shown to be gentle and effective, specifically for congestion, coughs and sore throats. Same for Rosemary. These are just some of the herbs you'll find in my Winter Nourishment Steam. You can steep a couple tablespoons in a pot on the stove and breathe in the steam that way, or add it to a steamy shower or bath. You can even brew a cup of tea with it as well, as all the herbs are effective internally too ✨$15 for an 8oz jar packed and a sachet.
