Ashwagandha is one of my favorite adaptogens. Not only is it an ancient herb that has been used for centuries in Ayurveda, but there's also been a great deal of modern studies done on its healing benefits. It's believed to support adrenal function, ease anxiety, reduce stress, and revitalize the exhausted, as well as aid with inflammation.
I love herbal coffee (that I also make with Ashwagandha root), but with two young children I do love my caffeinated coffee too 😋 I always add a dropper full of Ashwagandha extract. You can also take it straight, or add it to water. These come in 1oz dropper bottles and are $10. Store in a cool, dark and dry place for up to 2 years. Ashwagandha is considered a nightshade. So for those who don't tolerate night shades, it may not be the right herb for you. It also does stimulate the immune system, though slight, folks with auto immune issues should take note. Many folks don't have any issues, but some have found it to cause flare ups.
